Kailar is a fighting bear who travels with David/Ingavar during the events of The Fire Eternal. When David turns the polar bears into snow, Tam Farell catches Kailar and Avrel's bearflakes in his hands and their aumas join with his. Kailar detests ravens, thanks to having to free Gwilanna (transformed into a raven at the time) from an iceberg and bring her back to Ingavar. Kailar disappears along with the other bears in Dark Fire. In The Fire Ascending Kailar leads the others bears into battle with the darklings. Unfortunately, Kailar dies peacefully along with Gwilanna and Joseph Henry in the end.
